Born and raised in Virginia Beach, Roy learned early to surf, fish, and run a restaurant business. He grew up working in his family’s restaurants, cleaning scallops and working the fryer.
He studied finance at Elon College and began his first management position at Freemason Abbey Restaurant in Norfolk. He moved to Richmond with the Ruby Tuesday franchise in 1996.
Owner and operator of Joe’s Inn in Bon Air from 2000 to 2006, Roy came to Parry Restaurant Group in 2008. Since then, he has helped open Frank Beamer’s American Grill, Arosto Fire Roasted Pizza, Ivy Provisions, and Oh George! Tables and Taphouse.
Roy and his wife have four children and reside in Richmond. He continues to love cooking, fishing, hiking, and surfing.
